How do I format my resume?

The best resume format keeps the layout consistent. Whether you use italics, caps, bold, or underlining, it should be consistent.

A good rule of thumb about resumes is to keep your titles consistent throughout the resume. You may want to write your titles in larger font sizes (say 14 or 16) if you want more attention.

The second rule is to keep the width of the resume reasonable. A wide margin of one inch is best.

A good resume style includes proper spacing around an essential set of information. Ensure that the margins don’t go beyond the edge of the page.

Don’t use double-line spacing around your name, contact details, and other essential sections ─ 1.15 and 1.5 are best.
